Description: Frequently Asked Question(s)

Q: I'm using Rigi architectural recovery of a system. I've installed it on my Windows XP machine. When I try to use the Filter menu, the dialog box does not provide me the option to choose a particular function item. i.e. no checkbox is present. It just provides the names of the function items. Could you tell me a solution to this problem or why this problem exists.Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Thanks & Regards, Preeti Powar

A: Hi Preeti,
I have the same problem with Vista. As a workaround you can type in the corresponding Tcl commands in the Rigi Command Language (RCL): rcl_filter_nodetype and then rcl_filter_apply.
More details can be found there: http://strategoxt.org/Transform/RigiFAQ
Here is another example:
- Start rigiedit
- Go to Demo -> List
- Click OK
- Click OK
- Now you should see a window of a tree view. This window has the heading "Overview - 2 Rigi <>
- In the Rigi Workbench type in the following RCL Commands:
rcl_filter_nodetype Data 2
rcl_filter_apply node
As a result two yellow nodes should disappear in the view.
Cheers,
Holger
